Music Educator (No Teaching Certificate Required)

SCAI’s goal is to bring music-centered educators to all, specifically to schools, organizations, and community groups that do not have their own programs. We are currently seeking music teachers to fulfill this role.
Key responsibilities include:
-Building a classroom culture in which students enjoy music;
-Engaging students in the creative process and encouraging their talents
-Expanding their knowledge and understanding of music and music theory
-Introducing lessons that have the ability to impact the community
-Introducing/expanding on basic instrument knowledge
-Directing students in the community band
-Teaching students how to properly utilize instruments to conduct a song
-Band instructor
Successful candidates should also have the following experiences and characteristics:
-Have prior experience in performing and teaching music
-Have reliable transportation
-Able to work under pressure
-Have excellent organization, communication, leadership,and problem solving skills.
-Are passionate about music, learning, and children.
-Have the ability to secure all relevant and necessary clearances.
-Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying learning styles,needs and interests.
The following are preferred but not required:
-Bachelor’s degree in Music or Music Education
-Experience with steel pans
-Examples of past work, website
-Experience working with children

Grant Writer Intern (Unpaid)

SCAI is a nonprofit organization that utilizes grant funding. We are looking for prolific writers who can efficiently evaluate the requirements and submit grant proposals within the given time frame.

Internship Opportunity:
Grant writer intern(s) are needed to help apply for grants for the nonprofit, specifically for our art, music, education and culture programs and our innovation and technology programs.
Interns Will:
Will be able to work remotely when appropriate
Hours are part time and flexible; agreed upon and approved by Project Coordinator
Internship hours available for class credit
Responsibilities
- Assist with grant applications
- Proofreading both hard and electronic files, basic copyediting, and writing of proposals and reports;
- Work on special projects, as needed
Requirements
- Must have laptop
-Working towards a degree in journalism, writing, communications, nonprofit management, communication relations, media, etc.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with keen attention to detail and problem solving skills
- Knowledge of MS Office applications, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experience/interest in Web maintenance
- Familiarity with grant writing and Common Grant Application a plus
- Familiarity with budgets a plus

Outreach and Fundraising Intern (Unpaid)

SCAI has multiple events throughout the year. We are looking for creative individuals who can strategize and execute an efficient plan to assist SCAI in achieving its goals.
Internship Opportunity:
Outreach and Fundraising intern(s) are needed to help increase visibility and solicit donations for the nonprofit, specifically for our art, music, education and culture programs and our innovation and technology programs.
Interns Will:
Will be able to work remotely when appropriate
Hours are part time and flexible; agreed upon and approved by Project Coordinator
Internship hours available for class credit
Responsibilities
- Attend tabling events to increase SCAI’S visibility in the community
- Network with other organizations/community members
- Invite/recruit community members to events, shows, programs, etc.
- Solicit donations in the community
- Call/email/contact donors for donations
- Act and dress in a professional demeanor
Requirements
- Must have own laptop
- Must have flexible schedule
- Outstanding customer service ethic and high-quality expectations
- Advanced communication skills, including writing, proofreading and speaking
- Ability to work in the community with little supervision
- Strong problem solving, organizational, project management and planning skills
- Experience with social media communications, publishing and usability a plus

SCAI needs an Administrative Assistant who will specialize in assisting with standard office assignments and data entry. We are looking for reliable individuals who can fulfill such tasks.

An Administrative Assistant Intern is needed to help with operations for the nonprofit, specifically with data entry, communications, meeting minutes, and maintaining records.
Interns Will:
Will be able to work remotely when appropriate

Responsibilities
- Data entry of contact lists
- Check answering machine and keep record of phone calls/messages
- Attend and take meeting minutes
- Create and distribute emails, communications and letters

- Assist in resolving any administrative problems
Requirements
- Laptop required
- Experience as an administrative assistant, virtual assistant or office admin assistant or relevant coursework preferred
- Knowledge of office management processes and procedures

SCAI is available on all social media platforms. We are looking for individuals who can curate and manage social media content that will aid in the growth of our organization. Individuals will also be responsible for community engagement and marketing SCAI events.
